Materials and Space intervention

The space designated for the exhibition suggested an adaptation of the previously defined exhibition intentions. This reformulation would imply a site-specific approach to the space. In a first phase, it would be necessary to remove elements that could divert the viewer’s attention; and, in a second phase, to take advantage of the various architectural nuances to introduce elements that would edify the multi-sensorial experience. Examples of this are the elimination of existing doors, windows and recesses with the application of fake walls and the introduction of lights under the stairwell and in the window in front of the lift. In addition, other structures would be introduced in the space according to the directives defined for the art installation. Regarding this aspect, the platform in the main room would have to be supported by a wooden structure and euro pallets, as well as a support structure to hold the Ultraleap device.

Fabrics

The selection of fabrics was based on elasticity, weight and sound transmission. Thus, it was intended that both fabrics provide a dual function: (1) not impede sound propagation and (2) encourage haptic perception in its various modalities (texture, movement, pressure and temperature). Here are some important factors presented by the company Gerríets.
