Mixing Setup

Block diagram of audio device connections and software interconnections for sound mixing. 
Note: The specificity of the speaker arrangement and site-specific condition of the art installation forces the sound mixing to take place in the exhibition room. The mixing process will be carried out with the following elements: 
     Hardware: (1) M-Audio Firewire 4060 interface together with an ADAT Behringer ADA 8000 interface. 
     Software:  (1) DAW Reapper, (2) Spatial Mixing: Sound Particles, Facebook 360

Note: As can be seen, as a result of the mixing phase, all the sound channels will be converted again into sound files, duly catalogued and imported into a 16-channel sound player that will work autonomously (without the need for a complex audio signal chain).

Speakers positioning

In order to foresee the possible arrangement of speakers, several simulations were made concerning the acoustic response of the room. This way, and in order to create uniform sound dispersion in space, we decided to proceed with a (3 speakers x 3 speakers) grid, i.e. without a pre-defined listening point, instead of the conventional Surround approach.
